Getting Started

How do I set up my nutrition goals?

When you first open Nourish, you'll go through a 4-step onboarding process that calculates personalized calorie and macro goals based on your age, gender, weight, height, and activity level using the proven Harris-Benedict equation.

Is my data private and secure?

Absolutely! Nourish is built with privacy-by-design. We don't collect any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device and optionally syncs to your personal iCloud account. We have no access to your information.

How does food logging work?

You can log food by:

  • Searching our extensive food database
  • Scanning barcodes with your camera
  • Using the "Recent Foods" feature for quick access
  • Creating custom foods with your own nutrition information

What can I track with Nourish?

Nourish allows you to track:

  • Calories and macronutrients (protein, carbs, fat)
  • Water intake with preset amounts
  • Weight progress over time
  • Meals by category (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks)
  • Progress analytics with 7-day and 30-day trends

Does Nourish work offline?

Yes! Nourish is designed with an offline-first approach. You can log food, track water, and view your data even without an internet connection. If you enable iCloud sync, your data will sync when you're back online.

Can I use Nourish on multiple devices?

Absolutely! Enable iCloud sync in your profile settings to keep your data synchronized across all your Apple devices. Your data will stay in perfect harmony everywhere you use Nourish.

Troubleshooting

The barcode scanner isn't working

Make sure you've granted camera permissions to Nourish in your device settings. The scanner works best in good lighting conditions with the barcode clearly visible and steady.

My data isn't syncing between devices

Check that:

  • iCloud sync is enabled in Nourish settings on both devices
  • You're signed into the same Apple ID on both devices
  • You have an active internet connection
  • iCloud is enabled for Nourish in your device's iCloud settings

I can't find a specific food in the database

If you can't find a food, you can:

  • Try different search terms or brand names
  • Use the barcode scanner if the item has one
  • Create a custom food with the nutrition information from the package
